Four. Four pieces of neon orange furniture.
With all of the actual work (writing, photo editing, and homework) that goes on around here these days, it was time for a real work space. It started with this super cool counter-weighted articulated desk lamp that I found for $5 at the thrift store. We rewired it and painted the original dark forest green neon orange.
Then the Dream team pulled together the desk, which we made from a solid wood door we had in the basement, two free Craigslist whiteboards, and a sample can of Island Orange by Valspar.
And last but not least, we grabbed two vintage metal chairs from the basement and gave them a fresh coat of matching orange in spray enamel. I’m putting together a separate before and after post for those!
Cost breakdown:
2 cans orange spray enamel (we had one on hand as well): $8.46
1 box of screws for desk: $6.87
1 sample-size 80z can of Island Orange paint: $3.12
18.5″ of lamp cord: $1.16
Desk lamp: $5
Door: FREE thanks to door-happy previous home owners.
Whiteboard: FREE thanks to generous Craigslist do-gooders.
Wood for desk legs: FREE thanks to the theater where Mr. Dream occasionally works as a carpenter.
Total: $24.61
